He just lay down on his bed and died one night of a massive stroke after years of conjestive heart failure. But, oh, how he loved stories of those war years: hearing them and telling them. So maybe your dad and mine are keeping good company in heaven.Madwoman of Preserve Pathhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07021193076097365980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951855.post-33161777635356095222009-01-14T16:07:00.000-06:002009-01-14T16:07:00.000-06:00Thank you for sharing Barb. I chuckle every time I read this over, though, because if he were alive he'd never, ever, let me say this kind of gushy stuff about him!Barbara Marincelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12748046883382959358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27951855.post-8698976532758995292009-01-13T11:02:00.000-06:002009-01-13T11:02:00.000-06:00Barbara,I am so glad you took time to write about ...Barbara,
I am so glad you took time to write about your father's life and how you, that little baby, fit into it. What a sweet story. You both were blessed to have one another, and I know without a doubt he is still with you, and so very proud.
My Dad came from a large Catholic family and also had a brother, Leo (Leo died of a heart attack in 2000). I wouldn't be surprised if they shared shoes at some point as well. :)My father also taught me to fish. Thanks for the reminder.
Blessings this day, and thanks...Roxane B.
